Congratulations to one of our student Ernest who passed his Air Law theory exam today. We feel this achievement deserves particular mention as he is aged 77!Ernest is fulfilling a long-held ambition in undertaking flight training and is an inspiration to us all.It just goes to show, it is never too late to try to fulfil your dreams!

Today we were visited by 12 year old aviation addict Phillip, plus his family, for Phillip’s first air experience flight in a Cessna 152.Young Phillip is fascinated by the RAF and the history of WWII and already has an impressive collection of model aircraft which he has painstakingly built and painted in his free time. Many congratulations to our two students, Luca and Pablo, who both achieved their first solos today!Luca and Pablo are work colleagues and started their PPL courses with us at exactly the same time. Visiting together for lessons on each occasion, they have both completed around 10 hours training to date in our Cessna 152s. We were delighted that they were both able to fly their first solos on exactly the same day - what a result!Very well done chaps!

Congratulations to student Alexey who successfully passed his PPL RT exam today.Taking the test with our in-house examiner Jill Develin, this was a huge achievement for Alexey, for whom English is his third language! He has done brilliantly in mastering the challenges of communicating with ATC.Alexey is almost ready to take his PPL skills test and we feel sure he will rise to the next challenge too...Well done Alexey!

Further congratulations to our student Ed who successfully passed his practical RT exam today with our in-house RT examiner, Jill Develin.Having already successfully passed his LAPL Skills Test last week, Ed may now apply for his licence. Congratulations to our student Aeryn who experienced her first "landaway" today with our instructor Dirk.At around 26 hours into her flight training, this was Aeryn's third navigation exercise - but the first time she had landed at another airfield.Flying one of our C152s G-BMUO, Aeryn and Dirk departed using Runway 07 since the grass taxiways were waterlogged. Huge congratulations to our student Ed who successfully passed his LAPL skills test today!Ed is a student at Cambridge University and is clearly passionate about aviation - he has already written two books!Finding time between his studies, Ed completed his LAPL flight training in just under 45 hours and took his test with our in-house examiner Laurance in one of our C152s, G-BMUO. Today we were visited by the children of Peridot class, Langshott Primary School. The visit was organised by one of our PPL members, Gerry. The children were on the airfield all day and the purpose was to tie in with their "Forces in Science" Project which explain the forces of lift, weight, thrust, drag.
