Our students are really doing us proud this week! Today our young student Shaun achieved his first solo, after first passing his Air Law exam. Shaun is aged just 16 years - not yet old enough to take driving lessons! Shaun flew Cessna 152 G-BOYL for some circuit practice with instructor Simon Belassie, before flying a solo circuit using Runway 26L.

Congratulations to our young student Shaun (aged just 16) who passed his first theory exam today - "Human Performance & Limitations".This is the first of three theory exams that all students have to take before they fly solo for the first time (the other two being "Air Law" and "Operational Procedures").Very well done Shaun!

Many congratulations to our THREE who all passed their Radio Telephony Practical Examinations today!Helen, Matt and Simon were all given a theoretical flight to fly and had to demonstrate the required RT to our in-house examiner, Jill Develin. The celebrations are coming in thick and fast now that summer is upon us! Today our student Clare completed a successful Qualifying Cross Country flight.Clare set off from Redhill at 1340 local and flew via Kemble and Goodwood, returning back safely and full of smiles at 1725. Still at Uni in Dublin, Clare already has a PPL(H) and is now seeking to achieve her PPL(A). Not long now....Congratulations and very well done to you!

Very well done to our two students Dan and Dominic who both completed their Qualifying Cross Country flights today! Both students flew in C152s.Dominic flew the route Redhill - Thruxton - Lydd - Redhill and it won't be long before the all-important Skills Test!Dan flew the route Redhill - Kemble - Shoreham - Redhill. Our trusty G-BIUY earned her keep today by flying 30 youths from both the 1st Fetcham Scout Group and the 1st Hedgecourt Scout Group, Felbridge.Our pilots Laurance and Ross were able to fly the Fetcham Scouts over their home turf to see familiar landmarks from the air, whilst the Felbridge Scouts were treated to aerial views of the beautiful Chartwell House. The Scouts had a thoroughly enjoyable day and it's always a pleasure to introduce youngsters to the joys of aviation!
