Successful Qualifying Cross Country Flight!

Many congratulations to our student James, who successfully flew his solo Qualifying Cross Country flight today!

After a detailed briefing with instructor Mark and checking the weather, NOTAMS and aircraft, James set off from Redhill to his first destination – Earls Colne. Just as at Redhill, the weather in Essex was lovely and James made an uneventful first landing. After getting his QXC form signed by Air Traffic, James then set off to Lydd for his second landing.

As James flew south, he noticed the clouds getting slightly more widespread and made some minor detours to avoid a few. By the time James landed at Lydd, it had begun to rain a little so James sensibly decided that it would be a good time to stop for something to eat and drink while the shower passed by.

Having checked that the weather was still fine at Redhill, James later set off for the final leg of his journey and successfully completed his 150NM solo flight! A great achievement – congratulations Captain!
