Solo QXC Success!

Congratulations to our student John who today successfully flew his solo Qualifying Cross Country flight!

John already works in the aviation industry and is now working towards a Private Pilot's Licence of his own.

The Qualifying Cross Country (QXC) comprises a solo flight 150NM, with two landings at intermediate destinations before returning back to base. Each landing is acknowledged and signed off, usually by the Air Traffic Unit at the aerodromes concerned.

Today John flew Cessna 152 G-BOYL (aka "Susan"!) from Redhill to Earls Colne Airfield in Essex as his first stop, before then setting course for Lydd Airport, on the South Kent coast.

The all-important QXC document signed by both airfields, John then flew his final leg back to Redhill, thus completing his 150NM adventure.

Very well done to you John!
