First Solo!!!

Many congratulations to Jay, one of our Spanish students who flew his first solo circuit today after just 14 hours of flying instruction.

Jay’s instructor, Laurance, sent him off on his own after three practice circuits on runway 36. Jay was observed by Laurance from the ATC tower, he flew the circuit well and finished with a perfect landing.

Before his flight, Jay passed the three written exams required before he could fly his first solo: Air Law, Human Factors and Operational Procedures. As expected he got high marks!

He has made his first entry into the Pilot in Command column in his log book!

Jay works at another (slightly larger) local airport as cabin crew, with the intention of moving to the front end of the aeroplane after completing all his ATPL training. We wish him every success in his goal.
