First Solo Today!

Many congratulations to our student Mike, who flew his first solo today!

Mike's memorable flight nearly didn't happen at all today as the clouds were low over the aerodrome at the time he was due to fly. However not long after Mike decided to drive back home again, the clouds miraculously raised to 1,500 feet and so our proactive Ops team quickly recalled him for a brief check flight with instructor Simon before the big event!

Mike's first solo was performed in our Cessna 152 Aerobat G-BMUO after 15 hours flight training to date.

Surprisingly for February, Mike was able to use the grass Runway 26R which has been open for the last few days thanks to a recent dry spell.

Mike completed his circuit with a great landing.

Well done Mike!
